Thank you for coming to my web site. This latest update includes work done since 2011.
I have been fortunate to enjoy art for a good deal of my life although I was not able to spend
full time on it until the last few years. I have taken courses in watercolour painting, my
preferred medium, and have worked in Pastels and ink. I favour the English tradition of
transparent water colour applied in layers giving vibrancy to the subject. My goal is to focus
lighting for drama and use colour to respond to natural and man-made themes. I enjoy plein air
sketching especially when the weather is warm and sunny and one is surrounded by all the
sights, sounds, smells of the area one is working in. It is amazing how many friendly people
you meet while doing art. During my working career I lived in several countries around the world
and was inspired to capture local scenes. The works presented here are from Canada, Europe and the UK.

My membership in the Rideau Lakes artists' Association brings me into contact with over 100 local
artists to share ideas and encourage one another through group shows. In addition, I volunteer
at The Mess, a drop-in centre in Kingston, which provides art materials and instruction to
develop artistic expression. I am looking forward to participating in the following 2012 shows: the
Brockville Arts Centre in April, the Kingston Arts Council 2012 Juried Show in May, Art-in-the
Barn in July, the Rideau Valley Arts Festival Show in late August and the RLAA Fall Show in
October. All works shown are for sale. Prices are available on request if you contact me.
